DNA 2010!!!

The DNA Market is back for 2010!!! New year – new location. This year it is being held at the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall on the corner of Wairere Ave and New North Road, Mt Albert.

The market is scheduled for Saturday the 3rd of July from 1pm till 5pm.

We will be spending this time leading up to the market advertising every opportunity we get.

If you are interested in having a stall at the DNA Market you can find the link to the application form on the right hand column.

The cut off date for applications is the 19th of June. After that date we will be processing the applications and informing both successful and unsuccessful applicants.

So get on board and join the DNA crew, be it a stallholder or visitor.

Application Information.

Applications for the 3rd of July 2010 DNA market are now open. They will close on Saturday the 19th of June. We will be checking all applications, websites/blogs and photos/questions sent to our email as they come through so don't worry if you don't hear from us for a couple of days after you apply – we will contact you. After Saturday the 19th June, successful applicants will be sent an email regarding payment details, times, dates and other important information regarding the market. We will also inform unsuccessful applicants at this time. Also, if you don't have a website or blog please do your best to send us a couple of pictures of your work. Applications with images will be considered before those without. So go ahead, apply now!!!

About DMONIC INTENT/DNA Market.

We are a group of 4 who started our own fashion/jewellery/art label in 2008. We specialise in women's street wear, art and fine jewellery but found ourselves delving into crafts during 2009 when we realised that the craft market scene was pretty big in Auckland.

Now the list of things we make include clothing, fine jewellery, craft jewellery, gloves, belts, bags, soft toys, art works of canvas, wood and fabric, hair accessories, framed photographs, paper crafts and so on and so on.

In 2009 we held our first market titled DNA: Designers 'N' Artists market. It was held at the Ponsonby Community Centre and was pretty good for our first ever attempt at something like this. Despite the mega heavy rain, lack of parking and selecting a venue that was not on a main road we had an awesome turn-out of customers and were very pleased with how it worked out.

We are holding another one this year to give people like us the chance to get their work out there and possibly make some extra cash.

The beauty of it is that because the venue is really big, people selling clothing and art (things that may need space or display items such as clothing racks, mannequins or easels) have the opportunity to effectively display their work in a 2m x 2m space.

We are totally open-minded too! If you're interested in having a stall but are unsure whether or not your product would fit in with our aesthetic, let us know what you make and we'll get back to you. Pretty much though, as long as it is made by you and relates somehow to the creative industry, you are more than welcome to apply.
